Freddie Blake Associate Director – Financial Services Consulting
Freddie is an Associate Director within our Financial services consulting team. His client work focuses on providing Prudential Risk audit and advisory services to banking and investment clients in the UK and Europe.
Experience
Prior to joining the firm, Freddie was at the Bank of England working in the Prudential Regulation Authority. Whilst working at the PRA he was the lead supervisor for a number of UK domestic banks, this included overseeing new banks applying for a banking license. He also supervised major international banks and worked as a technical specialist in the PRA’s Capital Assessment Team.
Freddie joined Forvis Mazars in 2022 and brings with him strong expertise in capital, resolvability and risk management. He has led on reviews of ICAAP, ILAAP, Recovery Plan, Resolution Pack, Risk Management and Regulatory Reporting.
Work Highlights
Since joining the firm Freddie has supported a number of banks in revising their ICAAP and ILAAP documentation following increased regulatory scrutiny. This has included advising senior executives, risk specialists and treasury on how to improve the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the documents.
Freddie has been the technical SME in legal disputes relating to capital requirements and capital documentation which were resolved in the clients favour.
He also leads Prudential Risk business development, with a current personal focus on Basel 3.1, the SDDT Regime and Solvent Exit. He has led the development and delivery of a wide range of webinars, seminars and industry working groups covering these topics.
