Mazars sponsors International Opera Awards 2023

Building a fair and prosperous world for future generations is core to Mazars’ principles and supporting young talent is important to us - whether that is in the arts or accounting.

This year’s Awards was held at Teatr Wielki in Warsaw on Thursday 9 November. Hosted by BBC3’s Petroc Trelawny,  the ceremony featured exclusive performances from winners and other famous names from the opera world.

The event also raised funds for the Opera Awards Foundation, a charity which provides bursaries to aspiring operatic talent around the world.

David Herbinet, Global Head of Audit & Assurance at Mazars, said:

Mazars also continued its sponsorship of the Young Singer Award, which showcases the inspirational and international journeys of up-and-coming artists. This award reflects Mazars’ own commitment to technical excellence and the importance of nurturing young talent. This year’s winner was Polish Baritone, Andrzej Filończyk (pictured). One of Poland’s most promising opera talents, his upcoming appearances include the Royal Opera House Covent Garden (as Silvio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliaci) and the Teatro Regio in Parma (as Figaro in Rossini’s The Barber of Seville). 

The Awards were founded in 2012 and aim to raise the profile of opera as an art form, to recognise and reward success in opera and to generate funds for the Opera Awards Foundation which supports young artists.
