Forvis Mazars appoints Craig Maxwell as first Managing Partner for Glasgow office

Forvis Mazars, a leading global professional services network, has appointed Craig Maxell as the first dedicated Office Managing Partner (OMP) in Glasgow.

As OMP, Craig will be responsible for developing the firm’s business strategy in Glasgow and oversee its local team of 96 professionals. This team advises both individuals and businesses through a range of services including financial planning, wealth management, tax, accounting and outsourcing and audit and advisory. This unique offering of both private client and business services gives business owners access to everything they need under one roof, ensuring both personal and business interests are aligned and protected.

Craig joined the firm as an Audit Partner in 2016 and has over 25 years of experience in the industry. He works with privately owned mid-market and international businesses, supporting them as part of Forvis Mazars’ multi-service offering. Craig has a deep understanding of the local market having spent the last eight years working in the region, as well as beginning his career with local firm Campbell Dallas.

The team in Glasgow was previously led by Laura Clarkson, who was OMP across the offices in Scotland. She will remain as OMP for Forvis Mazars in Edinburgh.

Forvis Mazars’ Scotland offices announced double digit growth in revenue for FY 22-23, and saw a 17% increase in headcount in its Glasgow office over the same period. In the last year, the firm has expanded its services to clients in Scotland, with key hires made across all main business areas. The team continues to expand in the financial services sector, as well as in their advisory services work for the mid-market and international businesses, supporting clients at all stages of their growth journeys.

In June this year, Forvis Mazars, the newest top 10 global professional services network was launched. Formed of Mazars, the international audit, tax, and advisory firm, and FORVIS, a top ranked firm in the United States, it operates from Glasgow with the existing team and services.
