Laying the foundations for a sustainable future: Forvis Mazars’ latest CDP Climate score
CDP, an annual sustainability disclosure questionnaire, assesses whether organisations are aware of their climate risks and are actively managing them. It evaluates how organisations align their sustainability strategies with their financial goals, ensuring that their approach to managing climate risks is economically viable and supports long-term financial stability.
Our progress
Last year, we completed our first CDP disclosure and received a C for Climate. This year, the firm has progressed to a B for Climate, demonstrating significant improvement and dedication to sustainability.
Importance of our achievement
Recognising that there are growing expectations for this assessment to be completed by a wide range of stakeholders, the improved score shows that we are meeting these expectations and more.
It demonstrates transparency and authenticity in our actions and an awareness of climate risks facing their value chain – from suppliers and clients to our buildings and people.
"We are incredibly proud of the progress we have made, improving from a C to a B in our latest CDP Climate disclosure rating. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our team in addressing climate risks and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to building a sustainable future for our people, planet and communities. Aligning with our net zero by 2045 target, we remain committed in our efforts to embed sustainability across the firm, considering climate impacts across our decision-making and teams." - Mhairi Poole, Head of Sustainability.
"Achieving a B score in our CDP Climate disclosure is not only a testament to our commitment to sustainability but also to the stability and resilience of our firm. Being aware of and actively managing climate risks is crucial for our long-term financial stability and readiness for the future." - Alan Duley, Chief Financial Officer.
