Experience

Tatenda has over 10 years of experience in financial reporting and auditing. He has worked in various sectors including consumer products and retail, and public sectors, specifically, charities, education and construction.

Tatenda has also worked in financial statements advisory, focusing on the implementation of new standards. This covered areas such as IFRS 9, IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IPSAS.

He has also worked closely both with internal clients (audit and advisory teams) and external clients (audit and advisory clients) and has experience in producing output for both internal and external use. Tatenda performed specialist audits covering defined benefit pension plans, share-based payments and tax.

Work Highlights

• Tatenda successfully implemented IFRS and IPSAS related projects for financial institutions and public sector entities respectively. This involved workflows such as gap analyses, project implementation, selecting new accounting packages, systems and data, drafting accounting policies and manuals, and drafting skeletal financial statements.
• He has led audits for medium-sized companies (revenue of circa £30m-£70m) with no legacy of being audited both as a senior associate and as a manager. Tatenda recommended many areas for process improvements which covered both operations and financial reporting.
• Designated as a construction sector expert after successfully leading two construction clients.
