Nick Clarke Director - Restructuring & Insolvency

Nick helps and supports both businesses and individuals in financial difficulty; providing clear, straightforward and practical advice to enable business owners, directors and lenders to navigate challenging and stressed financial situations.

Experience 

As a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, an Insolvency Practitioner, and a regional committee member for R3, with over 22 years of business recovery and restructuring experience, Nick has extensive experience and a proven track record of helping businesses who find themselves in financial difficulties including larger mid-corporate entities, owner managed businesses, SMEs, partnerships and sole trader businesses.

His specialities include: Pre-insolvency advice and options reviews, corporate restructuring and insolvency, voluntary arrangements, cash-flow and independent business reviews, special situations, turnaround and stakeholder management.

Work highlights 

• Led the trading administration of a c.£17m turnover hotel and multi-site convenience store business, negotiated and transacted the sale of the hotel to an independent third party saving c.65 jobs and enabled all classes of creditors to be repaid in full and a return to shareholders.
• Provided options advice and planning to an international travel-related business. Structured the terms of a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) and then led the implementation team during the arrangement, resulting in the successful implementation of the complex CVA over a 4 year period, c.£3.2m return to creditors and the survival of the company.
• Supported a creditor, owed a material sum by a key customer, to partly recover its debt through a Court application for administration. Led the administration team, realising c.£2.3m of assets which will see a c.50-65p in the £ return to unsecured creditors.
