Experience

Edd is a chartered accountant and tax adviser. He trained with Mazars, working with businesses in various sectors.

He was previously Head of Indirect Taxes for Tolley, the leading provider of tax information in the UK.

Since rejoining Forvis Mazars, Edd has specialised in VAT advice for financial services and insurance businesses. He blends strong technical knowledge with a commercially focused approach.

Work highlights

• Edd has advised a variety of businesses in the financial services and insurance sectors on a variety of issues including VAT liability, reverse charge and s 43(2A) obligations, VAT grouping and partial exemption. As a consequence, he has helped many businesses manage their VAT risk and achieve positive outcomes with HMRC.
• Edd led the Indirect tax technical team of Tolley through a challenging Brexit period, developing an in-depth understanding of and interest in the continued relevance of EU VAT law in the UK.
• Edd has previously taught VAT papers on the prestigious ATT and CTA qualifications, including lectures on VAT for professional bodies.
