Ed Thomas Director - Restructuring Services
Ed is a bankruptcy specialist and licensed insolvency practitioner, with over 30 years’ experience in the public and private sector. Ed is authorised by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. Ed qualified with the Big Four and specialises in complex and investigative bankruptcies, including those of high net worth individuals.
His appointments as bankruptcy trustee have included former Russian bankers, involving asset recovery in Switzerland and Cyprus; a city financier with interests in Guernsey and Costa Rica; a tech unicorn CEO and Director, with property in Spain and Switzerland, involving fraud investigations in Monaco and Dubai; and a property financier and consultant with interests in the Channel Islands, BVI and Gibraltar.
Ed has also dealt with asset recovery in the US, Canada, Ireland and Australia in his extensive portfolio and closely liaises with our local teams to source intelligence and local support.
Ed enhances the returns to creditors by leveraging our specialist Forensics and Valuation experts, ensuring that true value is extracted and clients receive the full benefit.
He has worked in conjunction with the UK tax and law enforcement authorities in his bankruptcy portfolio, enhancing recoveries by thorough investigation and sharing information with government agencies. He also works collaboratively with both domestic and large international banks on his appointments, ensuring that performance and recoveries meet the client’s expectations.
