Mazars’ Laura Thursfield Named Birmingham Young Professional of the Year
We’re proud to announce that Financial Planner Laura Thursfield has been named the overall winner at the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year awards, in addition to Young Finance Professional of the Year. The awards ceremony took place on 24 May at the International Convention Centre, Birmingham.
The Birmingham Young Professional awards are now in their 18th year, culminating in an annual awards ceremony attended by 1000 professionals. The awards celebrate Birmingham’s top talent aged under 35 working in the professional services industry.
In addition to the honour of representing Birmingham as Young Professional of the Year, Laura was awarded a place on Aston University’s prestigious Executive MBS course. The judges commended Laura on her enthusiasm and obvious passion for Birmingham, and providing an inspirational example to her fellow young professionals.
Commenting on her win, Laura said: “I am really proud to be named Birmingham Young Professional of the Year. It is an honour to become an ambassador for the city for a year and I look forward to driving change and make a difference in Birmingham”.
Victoria Ball, BPS Birmingham Future chairman, explained the judges’ choice: "A huge congratulations to Laura. On judging day, her enthusiasm and passion for our city, along with her humble approach, really shone through and I have no doubt she will go on to drive change and be a fantastic ambassador for Birmingham”.
Praising Laura’s achievement, Birmingham Office Managing Partner Lee Cartwright said: “We are very proud of Laura. This is a fantastic achievement and it recognises her dedication and commitment to the city of Birmingham, as well as her exceptional potential as a financial planner”.
