Mazars encourages inward investment to the UK

9 November 2017
A team of expert commentators from international accountancy and advisory firm Mazars has contributed to an authoritative handbook on doing business in the UK, aimed at business leaders worldwide.
Published by Legend Business, the new publication – Business Guide to the UK 2017: Brexit, Investment and Trade - provides a comprehensive and robust guide to the post-referendum business climate in the UK.

The Guide addresses the key concerns of business owners and investors who may be considering setting up an operation in the UK and covers business regulations and common practices. It is aimed at multi-nationals, business owners, investors and directors in companies of all sizes and across all sectors. Unlike earlier editions of the Guide, this one examines the impact of the Brexit decision on businesses operating in the UK as well as the likely prospects for post-Brexit international trade.

Mazars has provided much of the content in the Guide, from Partner and UK Head of Quality and Risk, Jac Berry writing the chapter, ‘Complying with UK’s Money Laundering Regulations’  to Helen Harvey writing about ‘Company Formation,’ Stephen Brown covering ‘Financial Reporting and Accounting’ and Sarah Ouarbya and Swagat Bannick showcasing their knowledge of the ‘Regulation of Financial Services.

The Guide provides in-depth briefings on the technical aspects of making an investment; starting a business and understanding the UK market post Brexit. Topics covered include: employment law; business taxation; key global markets for international trade; immigration; grants and incentives and financial reporting.

Toby Stanbrook, Head of Accounting and Outsourcing at Mazars said:“Mazars is a truly international firm, well placed to support businesses and investors at any size or scale.  Our significant contribution to this Guide reflects our technical knowledge and experience.

“The UK is at the very early stages of negotiating its departure from the EU. We believe businesses and investors should equip themselves now with the relevant knowledge to help minimise their risks and maximise their opportunities.”

The Guide has been edited by Jonathan Reuvid. Other contributors include the British Export Association and the UK Intellectual Property Office.
