Mazars sponsors International Opera Awards 2022
Mazars is proud to continue its support of the International Opera Awards as both headline sponsors and sponsors of the Rising Star Award. Celebrating technical excellence and the brightest talent.
Building a fair and prosperous world for future generations is core to Mazars’ principles and supporting young talent is important to us - whether that is in the arts or accounting. And, as an international firm in over 90 countries, we applaud the diversity and inclusivity reflected in the International Opera awards.
This year’s Awards was held at Madrid’s Teatro Real on Monday 28 November. Hosted by BBC3’s Petroc Trelawny the ceremony featured exclusive performances from winners and other famous names with the orchestra of the Teatro Real under conductor Maurizio Benini. This year was particularly exciting as it is the first in-person awards since the start of the pandemic.
The event also raised funds for the Opera Awards Foundation, a charity which provides bursaries to aspiring operatic talent around the world.
David Herbinet, Global Head of Audit at Mazars, said:
We’re pleased to continue our long-standing support of the International Opera Awards as headline sponsor in 2022, supporting the best and the brightest from the opera world. Returning to an in-person event at the spectacular Teatro Real was a night to remember. Mazars congratulates all the well deserved winners
Mazars also continued its sponsorship of the Rising Star Award, which showcases the inspirational and international journeys of up-and-coming artists. This award echoes Mazars’ own commitments to technical excellence and the importance of nurturing young talent. This year’s winner was British soprano Nardus Williams (pictured) - a former English National Opera Harewood artist and Times Breakthrough Award nominee, this accolade further establishes her growing reputation as one of the most exciting British singers of her generation.
The Awards were founded by philanthropist Harry Hyman in 2012 and aim to raise the profile of opera as an art form, to recognise and reward success in opera and to generate funds for the Opera Awards Foundation which supports young artists.
