Richard Bott Partner - Audit & Assurance

Richard is a Senior Partner of the Bristol Office and provides accounting, audit (external and internal) and general business advice to both entrepreneurial businesses and social sector organisations, in particular universities, colleges and charities. Until 2019, he was Chair of our Audit and Risk Committee. Prior to joining us, he spent 13 years with PWC.

Experience 

Richard has nearly 40 years of experience working with entrepreneurial businesses, international groups (including listed groups) and major institutions (including universities, colleges and MATS) in an audit and business advisory capacity. Sectors have included scientific research, pharmaceutical, education and charities, food manufacturing, services, engineering, automotive, logistics and transport. He has also worked with a number of companies to improve their risk management and governance processes.

Richard has undertaken many due diligence reviews on entrepreneurial businesses in a variety of sectors including logistics, education and insurance.

Work Highlights 

• Worked with some major Higher Education institutions undertaking due diligence and advisory work as part of a complex merger.
• Worked with a major logistics organisation, and helped deliver a management buy-in/buy-out including a group reconstruction.
