Gareth Jones (VAT) Senior Manager - Indirect Tax

Gareth is an Indirect Tax Senior Manager based in our East Midlands offices with over 19 years experience in VAT. He has worked across many commercial and public sectors advising in a range of areas, including international VAT, land and property transactions, VAT compliance, corporate re-structuring and VAT efficiency of accounting systems.

Experience 

Within the Public & Social Sector, Gareth has particular experience in undertaking indirect tax compliance reviews (identifying risks and opportunities) and implementation of structures to mitigate VAT costs and maximise efficiencies.

Furthermore, he has agreed business / non-business and partial exemption special methods with HM Revenue & Customs and advised on VAT liability queries in relation to grant funding (business / non-business), land and property transactions and supporting clients with HMRC enquiries and investigations.

Work Highlights 

Gareth obtained his VAT qualifications during his time with HM Customs & Excise. Since then Gareth has developed a specialism in the Public & Social sector leading our Indirect Tax offering. Gareth has worked across a number of sub-sectors, including not-for-profit, charities, further education colleges, academies and housing associations.
