Jamie Wearn Senior Manager - Privately Owned Business Audit

Jamie is a qualified accountant (FCCA) and a senior audit manager in the audit and assurance team. He has been with the firm for 20 years and leads the UK firm’s services in respect of grants and project audit and is responsible for managing the EU and UK grants. Jamie has a range of clients clients providing audit and assurance services to the commercial sector.

Jamie’s specific grant assurance knowledge and experience includes an understanding of:

• Eligible costs for project funding against requirements that have been set out.

• Capital costs accounting

• The accounting treatment of expenditure

• The procurement of goods and services in line with prescribed grant terms

• Completion and assurance of grant funding returns

• Systems and procedures used to record, and process grant expenditure and how these should be set up to avoid double-funding

• The evidence requirements to support the various types of expenditure incurred such as staff costs, internal costs, goods, and services.

Jamie works closely with several universities and corporate clients to offer guidance so that they fully understand specific reporting requirements and how they can adhere to grant funding terms.
