Heads of Internal Audit Forum - Cyber Security & Technology Resilience

31 January 2019
This forum will focus on cyber security and technology resilience, which are internal audit hot topics for most organisations.

Cyber Security

Internal audit has a critical role in helping organisations with the continued battle of managing cyber threats. This role includes providing an independent assessment of existing and required controls, as well as assisting the board and audit and risk committees to understand and address the diverse range of cyber risks. Many organisations are still struggling with the basics in this area, resulting in the UK government creating the Cyber Essentials scheme.

Technology resilience

In an environment that is heavily reliant on technology, resilience continues to be the main concern of organisations, attracting an increased focus from regulators. Although one-off reviews of disaster recovery plans may still be required, internal audit is expected to play a bigger role in assessing the end-to-end operational resilience of organisations. This includes not only what to do in case of a disaster, but also the overall resilience of the organisation that would allow it to avoid the disaster.

During the forum, we will explore and discuss the key risks organisations face in the above areas and the controls that are being put in place to mitigate such risks.

Speakers

Francisco Sanches
Mazars Director, Cyber Security

We will also be joined by a team of panellists from three leading organisations.
