New appointments at Mazars in Hong Kong

Stephen Weatherseed joined Mazars in January 2011 and has spent over 30 years in professional financial services, more than half of which have been based in Hong Kong and Asia, and the remainder in UK and Europe.  His role within the firm includes acting for international audit clients, both as contact and/or engagement partner, and special projects in relation to mergers and acquisitions and litigation support.  Stephen has a recognized track record of advising complex, multi-national clients on corporate finance, audit, risk management and cross border transactions as well as on China/Asian investment/trading strategies.

Gilbert Chan joined Mazars in 2000 and has over 10 years’ experience in auditing Hong Kong and Mainland China companies, ranging from SMEs to listed companies, operating in trading, distribution, manufacturing, telecommunications, wireless services providers, e-commerce solution, and logistics.  He also has a solid experience in due diligence, reverse takeover, mergers and acquisitions activities, and financial investigations.  Gilbert holds a BBA Honours from Lingnan University and is an Associate of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Ivan Chan joined Mazars in 2000 and has over 10 years’ experience in providing auditing and business advisory services to companies of all sizes, ranging from SMEs to companies listed in both Hong Kong and overseas.  He is also engaged in special assignments including investigations, business valuations and IPOs.  Ivan has serviced local and overseas clients operating in retail, manufacturing, trading and computer software / online games development.  He holds a BBA Honours from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and is both an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Dave Wong joined Mazars in 2011 as a Tax Senior Manager.  He holds an MBA from the University of Sydney as well as a Bachelor of Business Administration from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.  Dave has more than 10 years’ experience in China tax and cross-border tax planning.  He has assisted a wide spectrum of multi-national companies operating in high-technology, consumer and industrial products manufacturers, and service industries by providing services such as tax and structure planning, tax 'health check', due diligence, and representing clients in dealing with China tax bureaux.  Dave is a member of CPA Australia and fellow member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
