2024 TIHK Chartered Tax Adviser Conference (27 November 2024)
On 27 November 2024, our Tax Partner, Karen Lau, had the privilege of attending the 2024 Chartered Tax Adviser Conference, organized by TIHK. The theme for this year's conference is “Digital Evolution: Redefining Taxation for Tomorrow,” which highlights the increasing significance of technology and innovation in transforming tax systems and practice globally.
During the conference, Mr Christopher Hui, GBS, JP Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, and Mr Benjamin Chan, JP, the Commissioner of Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department, shared their views on the latest development in Hong Kong taxation landscape. Key officials from Mainland China shared their comprehensive insights into the digital transformation of tax governance in the Greater Bay Area. Furthermore, tax professionals also engaged in discussions regarding the trends in digital taxation, implications and preparations for BEPS 2.0, as well as the tax risks associated with an evolving digital landscape.
