Dr. Laulusa said, “We are very pleased to be able to strategically cooperate with the Shanghai Pilot Free Trade Zone. I believe that Mazars' professional services will make a positive contribution to the business environment and comprehensive strength of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone and help Pudong New Area develop into a pioneer of socialist modernization.

“On my first visit to Pudong in 1996, I saw unlimited possibilities here. Therefore, I came to Pudong again in 2003 to set up the Mazars Shanghai office in Lujiazui. In July this year, the government published a series of opinions on the Pudong Pioneer Zone, and showed us the grand blueprint for its development. Mazars hopes to develop with Pudong together.”

In the context of the global COVID-19 pandemic, Mazars has shown extraordinary resilience, and the group's good performance has also won more opportunities from partners for cooperation. Last year, the firm recorded revenues of €1.9 billion (September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2020), up 7.8% (excluding Forex impact of -0.3%) from the previous year, including strong natural growth (5.9%), and positive external growth (1.8%). Mazars has more than 40 offices and 5,000 professionals in China, and achieved revenue of ¥1.417 billion, and a year-on-year revenue growth of 17%.

It is worth noting that, in addition to Mazars experts from all over the world, this year Mazars also invited many senior international business leaders and professionals to participate in these in-depth conversations and to share ideas and opinions.

Among them, the forum “How can enterprises achieve sustainable development goals?” was hosted by Dr. Laulusa, with Mr. Nicolas Beckers, CEO of Remy Cointreau Greater China; Mr. Francois Tardif, President of Faurecia China; Mr. Kamran Vossoughi, President & CEO of Michelin China; and Mr. Ludovic Weber, CEO of Saint-Gobain APAC, joining in to share their views and insights on topics such as corporate social responsibility and carbon neutrality.

“In the context of the gradual roll-out of China’s 14th Five-Year Plan, how to sustain high-quality development has become a problem that needs to be considered in all walks of life.
