Understanding & Doing Business With China
TÜSİAD organized the fifth of the conference series titled “Understanding & Doing Business with China”, which has been organized since 2012, in collaboration with Istanbul Okan University's Confucius Institute on December 10, Tuesday at InterContinental Hotel in Istanbul.
As the content partner of the conference, Mazars Denge organized various activities on both cultural and business issues. Similarities and differences between the two cultures as well as the business trends expected to play a predominant role in the Chinese economy in 2020 were illustrated for participants through special video content.
Inspired by the Jixian pavilion structure of Mazars Denge in Hangzhou City, the services of both Mazars and Global China Services all over the world were described.
In order for the participants to get to know Chinese culture more closely, the activities at the cultural stands where their names were printed in Chinese and they tried to write Chinese themselves were highly appreciated.
The most interesting activity of the congress was Doing Business in China training through the VR technology the software and development of which was commissioned by Mazars Denge. During this training, the participants learned the culture of doing one-on-one business in China and practiced the training they received with virtual reality.
In the first session of the conference to which the Minister of Industry and Technology of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Varank and the P.R.C.'s Embassy in Ankara were invited for opening speeches, Former President of Germany Christian Wulff contributed to the event as a key-note speaker.
This year's conference consisted of four panels. In the first session, developments in the economic, social and technological spheres in China were discussed and Made in China 2025, Belt and Road Initiative, China's foreign direct investments and international relations were examined. In the second session, the experiences of Turkish firms in doing business in China were shared; in the third session, the experiences and collaborations of Chinese firms in Turkey were discussed; in the last session, Turkey and China's relations were handled by representatives of different ministries from a public perspective.
The conference examined the rapid transformation of the economic, social and technological fields in China in terms of Turkish business and decision makers, evaluated China's current strategies and policies' implications on Turkey and the global economy, offered the opportunity to discuss the investment and business environment in China and shed light on the bilateral economic relations of Turkey and China by enabling the business world to share its messages with the public officials of both countries.
