Lionel Cazali Partner – Audit Financial Services

Lionel is the Head of our insurance practice in the UK. He has significant knowledge and experience working with the London market, UK-based groups and international ones. He works with direct insurers, underwriters, general insurance, life insurance businesses, reinsurers, and intermediaries. Lionel also has experience in both joint audit and component audits for large international Groups.

He spent 13 years working in the insurance practice of Mazars in Paris, was in a Big Four firm in Paris for three years, and then seven years in Zurich, where he set up and led Mazars Switzerland's insurance practice. He joined Mazars in the UK at the beginning of October 2018 to support the development of our insurance practice.

He has serviced his clients on conversion projects to IFRS / US Gaap, purchased Gaap accounting following acquisitions, internal model reviews, and technical reserves reviews, implemented fast close procedures and improved internal control processes.

Lionel also has expertise in financial due diligence for life and non-life (re)insurance companies. He is a Responsible Individual (RI licence from ICAEW), a Qualified Actuary, and a Fellow of the French Institute of Actuaries and the Swiss Actuarial Association.
