David Blunt Senior Advisor
David is a senior adviser focusing on Consumer Duty and other aspects of conduct and culture in financial services firms.
Before joining the firm in 2022, David was Head of the Conduct Specialists Department in Supervision at the FCA where he was the FCA’s lead on its priority of transforming culture across financial services. As part of that work David was also responsible for the extension of the senior managers and certification regimes to all FCA authorised firms – one of the key FCA workstreams focusing on culture and governance at firms. David was also a member of the Consumer Duty working group while at the FCA.
David had been at the FCA/FSA since 2000. For the last 10 years David held a range of senior positions in Supervision, including heading the investment banks supervision department before setting up the cross-sector Conduct Specialists department. During that time David engaged with Global Systemically Important Firms, across banking, insurance, asset management and other financial services sectors, interacting with C-suite executives and board members. Before joining Supervision, David held a variety of roles in the Markets and Enforcement divisions.
David has also chaired international committees for the FSB to lead the global agenda on remuneration and culture.
