Christopher Ridley

Chris is a Tax Partner and Head of our UK Innovation Incentives practice. He is responsible for the direction and management of the national team, which is engaged in the provision and maintenance of best practice for the R&D tax and Patent Box service for clients.

He also leads Forvis Mazars’ Global R&D tax group that coordinates the provision of Innovation Incentives support to clients of the firm internationally.

Experience 

With a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from SME start-ups to large international organisations, and across several different sectors, Chris leverages his extensive experience to collaboratively identify opportunities for R&D and Patent Box claims. In his Global Innovation Incentives Board role, he collaborates internationally to build efficient Intellectual Property strategies that align with commercial goals while maintaining tax efficiency. 

Work highlights 

In recent years, Chris has successfully secured substantial cash repayments through innovative incentive claims. His noteworthy achievements include the publication of a specialist book - Research and Development with Patent Box (3rd edition) - released in partnership with Claritax, further showcasing his expertise in the field.
