Korean Air/Asiana Airlines

Forvis Mazars LLP is the Monitoring Trustee approved by the European Commission and the Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) to oversee compliance (i) by Korean Air Lines Co., Ltd. (Korean Air) with the Passenger Commitments provided to the European Commission in case COMP M.10149, and (ii) by Korean Air and Asiana Airlines Inc. (Asiana) with the Cargo Commitments provided to both the European Commission and the JFTC.

Monitoring Trustee in case COMP M.10149 Korean Air/Asiana Airlines

The European Commission and Japan Fair Trade Commission (JFTC) have approved the proposed acquisition of Asiana Airlines Inc. (Asiana) by Korean Air, subject to full compliance with the Commitments offered by Korean Air and Asiana.

Forvis Mazars LLP has been appointed as Monitoring Trustee for the purpose of monitoring the implementation of the Passenger Commitments offered by Korean Air to the European Commission, and Cargo Commitments offered by Korean Air and Asiana to both the European Commission and the JFTC.

Pursuant to the Cargo Commitments, Korean Air and Asiana have undertaken to divest Asiana’s global air freighter cargo business, excluding Asiana’s belly space cargo business.
