During the transition period – one year from 1 June 2022 to 31 May 2023 – a dual system of confirming the temporary incapacity for work (hereinafter “sick leave”) will be in place. Post the transition period, the paper form of sick leave documentation will be eliminated.
In practice, the doctor confirmation in the outpatient health care provider’s software will be transferred to eHealth, subsequently to the National Health Information Center (“NZCI”), and finally to the Social Insurance information system. The Social Insurance will notify the Employer.
As of 1 June 2022, the Social Insurance will release a new tab “ePN” within the existing electronic services providing the Employers with all necessary details of the employees’ sick leaves online.
Via “ePN”, the Social Insurance will provide the Employers the information on:
- Start, duration and end of employee’s sick leave
- Reason of sick leave
- Location of employees during their sick leave
- Possible violation of treatment regimen
- Changes in data provided
Via “ePN”, the Employer will inform the Social Insurance about:
- Employee’s last workday before sick leave
- Employee’s bank account number to which Employer transfers employee’s salary or information that employee’s salary is paid in cash.
