The prestigious award of the Learning & Development Awards, in the category of Lecturer of the Year 2023, was awarded to Forvis Mazars' expert Zuzana Čmelíková. Almost twenty judges agreed on the victory of our colleague, who heads the Leadership & resilience department. Among the criteria they used to select the winner were, for example, the ability to introduce new topics, access to clients, publishing activity, as well as the personality of the lecturer. This is the 6th year that the award has been presented by Developium.
Lecturers care about the development of others, so they often give positive feedback. However, they also need to receive it. At Forvis Mazars, we therefore decided to give it, in the form of a nomination for the Lecturer of the Year 2023, to our colleague Zuzana Čmelíková. The jury had the same opinion as we did - they agreed with us in the form of her winning. Thus, she has already received feedback not only from colleagues and clients, but also from experts.
"I really appreciate being invited and being part of a community of mentors whose mission is to elevate the minds of individuals, broaden the horizons of teams and improve the culture of companies," says Zuzana.
The 2023 Lecturer of the Year was selected from dozens of nominees by 16 experts. These were experts who work in the field of corporate education, business coaching or adult education. The members of the jury not only practice these professions themselves, but also look for professionals in the field.
Two rounds of judging were used to find the winner of the 2023 Lecturer of the Year award. First, twelve finalists were selected on the basis of a questionnaire and invited to a so-called "final hearing", after which the final decision was made.
"I appreciate that, little by little, companies are now realising how important it is to establish a desirable corporate culture and that the moral tone in organisations must be set by leaders. It's up to them to maintain it, thanks to values that are properly set and realistically lived." (ZČ)
Zuzana Čmelíková succeeded not only in the categories that can be explicitly evaluated, but also in those that stand and fall on the personality of the lecturer. She succeeded resoundingly in evaluations related to the number of years in the field, the quantity and quality of professional publications, and following and applying the latest trends.
"I want to continue to focus on topics that enable not only individuals and teams, but also companies and society as a whole to live better lives." (ZČ)
However, it also triumphed in those awarded for personal approach, inspiration, acting as a positive role model or enthusiasm. The latter was not lacking during the closing ceremony. Although Zuzana's heel got stuck in the podium after the award was presented, she managed to successfully release it in the end. She left the stage, only to return again a year later. As the lecturers are careful not to get "stuck" but to move on, she will move on in this poll as well. She will appear in it again, but in the opposite guise – as a juror.
"It is important for the trainer to continuously educate and look for approaches to motivate and inspire our participants to make a real difference." (ZČ)
