Employers who are "undertakings in difficulty" will also be able to apply for the state aid
Employers who are "undertakings in difficulty"
On 21 April 2020 the European Commission approved proposed state aid scheme pursuant to the project “First aid” to employment maintenance and support of self-employed persons affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
In order to provide aid to undertakings which were in difficulty as at 31 December 2019, the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family submitted to the European Commission a request for an exemption and to not to include this condition into the aid scheme. The European Commission granted this exemption and approved provision of the aid also to the undertakings in difficulty.
Approved scheme of the state aid does not include this condition anymore and the state aid shall be provided also to the employers (including the self-employed persons that are employers) who were undertakings in difficulty as at 31st December 2019.
Above-mentioned exemption is still applicable for self-employed persons that are not employers. These are self-employed persons applying for contribution in second group, i.e. pursuant to the measure No. 2.
