On 6 February 2024, ‘Notification re: Extension of the electronic tax filing (“e-filing”) deadline (No. 7)’, issued by the Ministry of Finance, was published in the Royal Gazette. This announcement is meant to encourage the use of electronic tax filing, which allows taxpayers to file tax returns and pay their taxes eight days later than they would have to do so if filing paper returns. This notification is effective for the period from February 2024 to January 2027.

On 28 December 2023, Notification No.12 of the National Wage Committee regarding an increase in the minimum wage was published on the Royal Gazette. The wage increase became effective on 1 January 2024. The minimum wage increase ranges from THB 2 to THB 16 a day, depending on the province.

Tax exemption for individuals investing in the Thailand ESG Fund

On 21 November 2023, the Cabinet approved a draft ministerial regulation on granting individuals a tax exemption for investing in the Thailand ESG Fund (“the Fund”), effective from 21 November 2023 to 31 December 2032.
