Increase in fines for illegal employment of labour migrants

As of 1 February 2025, the maximum fine for illegal employment of migrant workers has been increased from €8,000 to €11,250. This maximum fine amount applies when these serious offences are committed intentionally. It is therefore important to assess whether labour migrants are allowed to work in the Netherlands. This also applies to hirers or clients.
