AirNav Ireland is Ireland’s new Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) following the recent restructuring of the Irish Aviation Authority. Launched on 1st May 2023, AirNav Ireland is responsible for providing air traffic management and related services in the 451,000 km2 of airspace controlled by Ireland. This airspace forms a crucial gateway for air traffic between Europe and North America.

The Organisation

AirNav Ireland is Ireland’s new Air Navigation Service Provider (ANSP) following the recent restructuring of the Irish Aviation Authority. Launched on 1st May 2023, AirNav Ireland is responsible for providing air traffic management and related services in the 451,000 km2 of airspace controlled by Ireland. This airspace forms a crucial gateway for air traffic between Europe and North America.  The company employs over 650 staff across its business divisions – air traffic control, technology and training,  administration and corporate affairs, and is located across six locations in Ireland, including Dublin city centre (HQ); Dublin, Cork and Shannon airports; Ballygirreen, County Clare; and Ballycasey, County Clare.

The Role

AirNav Ireland is recruiting for the role of Chief Executive. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic semi–state commercial organisation which provides an essential service to support the social and economic fabric of Ireland.  The newly appointed Chief Executive will drive the vision to be a leading air navigation service provider recognised for safety, innovation, sustainability and operational excellence and will have the opportunity to develop AirNav Ireland’s broader commercial strategies. The role of Chief Executive is subject to a regulatory approval process. 

The Person

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate a strong track record in senior management with significant experience in leading and influencing across a diverse stakeholder environment. They will have extensive experience across areas such as finance, strategy, innovation, change, commercial and corporate governance. They will ideally demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aviation industry and / or another regulated safety critical sector.
