On 1 June 2024, we launched Forvis Mazars, a leading global professional services network with two member firms, operating in over 100 countries and territories.
This group report provides insight into our business context and shows its basis for preparation, consistency and transparency. It is a consolidated report reflecting our performance as one group and international value chain and is based on the application of an operational control approach when defining our reporting boundaries. Each Forvis Mazars country also publish individual sustainability reports.
Ireland is one of nine EU member states to transpose the recent Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) into law on time. The EU has adopted the European Sustainability Reporting Standards and the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive. This robust legislative framework will help us embed sustainability throughout our value chain in 2024 and represents a major step forward in driving global efforts towards more consistent and comparable disclosure.
Our success relies on integrating sustainability into our core strategy and this report leads with our purpose and corporate sustainability strategy. As auditors and business advisors, we will endeavour to make a new growth and trust contract, ensuring that our business model is responsible, contributes to social prosperity and inclusion and safeguards our planet for future generations. In our sustainability disclosures, we are committed to continuous improvement. In 2024, we will leverage a new double materiality assessment to understand our impact, risks and opportunities and identify highly material areas around which we can concentrate our strategy for sustainability.
This Group sustainability report demonstrates our commitment to achieving net zero, detailing our baseline data for scopes 1-2-3 and our decarbonisation roadmap using a science-based-targets approach. It covers the pillars of our strategy: environment, social and governance and the economic dimension, as we develop end-to-end sustainability services for clients. These services include:
- Strategy to position clients for competitiveness in the green economy.
- Sustainability disclosure and compliance.
- Sustainability reporting assurance.
- Performance through sustainability impact projects.
- Sustainable finance for the green transition.
The Forvis Mazars sustainability service line has grown to almost 400 dedicated specialists across our international partnership, with a dedicated team of experienced sustainability advisors in Ireland.
