Gaibrielle Cleary Partner
I work closely with my client to achieve the optimal tax, commercial and practical outcome. The key to being a successful tax adviser is the desire and aptitude for problem-solving. This requires not only detailed knowledge of all aspects of income taxation law, but also corporations law and business experience to ensure an effective outcome.
I am the head of the Forvis Mazars Sydney Tax Consulting Division and have over 30 years experience providing taxation advice in international and Australian law firms, big 4 and boutique accounting firms and as the corporate counsel for an ASX listed company. My wide-ranging and varied clients include listed public companies, international groups, SMEs and high net wealth individuals.
I have extensive experience in the provision of result-orientated tax advice that is both practical and commercial. I provide advice in all areas of income tax and indirect taxes. My key specialities include business structures, corporate restructures, acquisitions and divestments, capital gains tax, global mobility, employment taxes, tax due diligence, employee share schemes, and management of taxation audits.
I am also a recognised author of a number of leading tax publications which currently include Wolters Kluwer’s Small Business Tax Concessions Guide, Australian Master Tax Guide, Australian Master Financial Planning Guide and Federal Tax Reporter.
When away from the office, I am usually keeping active particularly with pilates, boxing and walking. I am also frequently found on Sydney Harbour kayaking or standup paddle boarding with my trusty Foxy Russell on board.
