Profile
Mathias Birnbaum has been a partner at Forvis Mazars (formerly Mazars) in Düsseldorf since 2023. He advises capital market-oriented groups and large medium-sized companies in particular in the areas of international tax law and M&A. After 15 years at KPMG and PwC, he has extensive experience in global restructurings and transactions, inbound and outbound investments, permanent establishments, foreign tax law, licensing and financing structures, as well as in tax procedural law and financial litigation. His portfolio also includes advice on the new global minimum taxation (BEPS / Pillar 2).
He is an honourary professor of tax law at the University of Leipzig, where he teaches in particular on inheritance tax law.
