Mazars announces senior promotions across Australian offices in 2022

International audit, tax and advisory firm Mazars announces the appointment of three new Partners, Jonathan Cicutto, Ruth Kim and Stephen Baxter together with four new Associate Directors, Pei-hua Loke, Jay Piprotar, Shaunie Huzzey and Casey Bourke, supporting Mazars long-term strategic growth.

Jonathan Cicutto, Partner – accounting and outsourcing, Melbourne

Jonathan has been with Mazars since its establishment in Australia in 2016. He has ten years’ experience specialising in global outsourcing for both local and multi-national corporations. He has worked in Australia and the UK, assisting clients to navigate the business landscape of operating in Australia, providing outsourced back-office finance solutions to enable them to focus on their core business, while delivering comfort they are meeting all their businesses compliance obligations. Jonathan takes pride in making valuable contributions to the growth goals of his clients’ and Mazars and is a Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

  

Ruth Kim, Partner, business advisory, Sydney

Ruth has served as a business advisory accountant for the past fifteen years, which has provided her with an in-depth understanding of the dynamic needs of businesses. Equipped with this understanding Ruth prides herself on delivering meaningful advice to her clients and colleagues. Ruth is fluent in Korean and leverages this skill coupled with her cultural understanding of the Korean market to support Korean businesses operating in or looking to expand into Australia.

  

 

 

Stephen Baxter, Partner, indirect tax, Sydney

Stephen has over thirty-three years’ experience within the indirect tax field. Specialising in GST planning and transaction advice, as well as land tax dispute and planning advice for developers, investors and family property portfolios. 

Stephen has been at the forefront of the development of indirect taxes in Australia with his membership of the Federal Treasurer’s Board of Taxation Advisory Panel since 2008. He also writes and updates GST chapters for Wolters Kluwer Small Business Tax Concessions Guide.  

  

 

Pei-hua Loke, Associate Director, business advisory, Melbourne

Pei-hua has fourteen years’ of industry experience and supports a wide range of clients within the Business Advisory division, across privately owned businesses to multinationals in diverse industry sectors. With a passion for continuous improvement, a strong belief in the importance of systems and processes, and a sharp eye for detail Pei-hua is a champion of business improvement and innovation where she takes lead roles internally on various projects. She is a longstanding Member of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

  

 

Jay Piprotar, Associate Director, audit and assurance, Brisbane

Jay has over ten years’ experience in providing audit and assurance services to clients of varying sizes with a focus on multi-national corporate entities spanning across a wide range of industries. Jay’s breadth of experience accumulated in Oceania; Americas and Africa adds significant value to the firm and our clients. Jay is a member of the Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand.

Jay’s passion for navigating challenging technical accounting and auditing matters is often at the forefront of his service delivery at Mazars. He has been instrumental in developing and supporting other team members and is a member of the Asia-Pacific training committee of the firm.

Shaunie Huzzey, Associate Director, accounting and outsourcing services, Sydney

Shaunie has been with Mazars since 2014, initially joining Mazars UK as a graduate and transferring to Mazars Australia as part of our global mobility program in 2018. Shaunie’s expertise and passion for driving process improvement, innovation and change transformations for both her clients and within Mazars is reflected in her consecutive success in the Accountants Daily 30 under 30 Awards, where she won the 2020 Business advisory and innovation award and the 2021 Innovation award. Shaunie is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and is part of the Mazars APAC Innovation Specialist group.

 

Casey Bourke, Associate Director, business advisory, Sydney

Casey has over 10 years experience in the business advisory division. She has both local and international experience, assisting clients with their accounting, taxation and advisory needs. Casey is a member of Chartered Accountants and New Zealand and holds a bachelor degree from the University of New South Wales. In 2021, Casey was awarded the Accountants Daily 30 Under 30 Tax and Compliance Award, which recognised her modern and future focused approach to tax and compliance-based services.
