Mazars appoint ESG specialist strengthening ESG offering in Australia

Damien has two decades of experience in accounting and ESG practices including six years assurance experience at Big 4 firms in Europe, where he audited banks and asset management companies, and eleven years of research and lecturing experience, including most recently at Monash University in Melbourne. Damien’s research focused on examining non-financial reporting and ESG matters such as water & wastewater, community and stakeholder engagement, corporate governance mechanisms and shareholder activism.
Among his other educational achievements, Damien holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from ESSEC Business School in France, has an MBA, and has completed his chartered accounting certification. Throughout his research, he has also authored and been a co-author of governance and auditing publications, as well as a number of research reports.
