$260 million in lockdown support announced for Queensland businesses

Applications are now open through the Queensland Rural and Industry Development Authority (QRIDA) for the Queensland Government’s recently announced Covid-19 business support grants. The grants aim to support a range of Queensland-headquartered businesses and not-for profit organisations doing it tough in the wake of the 2021 July/August lockdowns and border closures.

Available grants and eligibility

The Queensland Government’s guidelines indicate that you may qualify for one of the below grants depending on the size of your business:

• A $10,000 grant to small businesses and not-for-profit organisations with annual payroll of less than $1.3 million;
• A $15,000 grant to medium sized businesses and not-for-profit organisations with annual payroll between $1.3 million and $10 million
• A $30,000 grant to large sized tourism and hospitality focused businesses and not-for-profit organisations with annual payroll of greater than $10 million.

In addition to the existing grants, a $1,000 one-off grant has also been announced for non-employing sole traders across Queensland.

How to apply

To apply for a $10,000-$30,000 Business Support grant visit https://applyonline.qrida.qld.gov.au/auth/login to access the QRIDA portal and create a profile. Applications will be processed in the order that they are received and are open now. Further information is also available through the QRIDA portal.
