Increase in machinery registration fee

The Ministry of Industry has raised the fees for registering machinery by an estimated 20 per cent to reflect the present economy and production costs, including the machinery inspector’s licence fee.

Under the Thai law the movables can be mortgaged, if they are registered according to the law. Then the government also encourage entrepreneur in Thailand that the registered machinery can be declared as assets to secure a bank loan by the Commercial law.

Previously, there were only four machinery registration fees for ranges in value set out in Ministerial Regulation No. 7 (B.E. 2532). The highest range was set that THB 500 per machine, or not more than THB 10,000 to register several machines in the same factory at the same time, and there was no ruling for the machinery inspector’s licence fee available.

On 20 February 2017, the Ministry of Industry published Ministerial Regulation B.E. 2560, in the Royal Gazette, promulgated under the Machinery Registration Act B.E. 2514 and its amendment (No. 3) B.E. 2558, in order to amending the fees in annex of the act, as set out below:
