Challenges 

Our client opened a sales office in Thailand to be the importer of record for its vehicles sold through two local distributors. The Mazars Partner met with the regional Financial Controller in Singapore to propose providing our accounting and outsourcing services to support the company’s operations. Experience using SAP B1, as well as providing an understanding of the requirements under the local tax laws, was essential.

Solution 

Mazars was appointed to provide accounting and tax compliance services to the entity in Thailand. We work in SAP B1 remotely, and have a close relationship with the client’s regional team in Singapore.

Results 

Apart from accounting and tax compliance services, Mazars was asked to handle more responsibilities, including administrative work, such as registering imported vehicles with the Department of Land Transport. The positive attitude of the Mazars team to find solutions to support our client helped to cement the relationship with the regional team in Singapore. Two years later, two manufacturing entities in Thailand have been opened, and Mazars handles all aspects of accounting and finance, including issuing POs, processing payments, complying with internal controls, and preparing the monthly accounts.
