Forvis Mazars CEE deal advisory highlights 2024

Forvis Mazars has been ranked among the top 4 leading transaction services providers in Central & Eastern Europe by the number of successful deal advisers, based on the Mergermarket CEE Accountant League Table 2024.

Our deal advisory highlights feature a selection of projects we advised on throughout the region in 2024.

Reflecting on the year, there are a few key themes that have directed and influenced Forvis Mazars’ transactional activity in CEE:

  1. There is strong cross-border dealmaking, with inbound investments coming mostly from Western Europe and the USA but also from other parts of the world (the Middle East, for example).
  2. Private equity buyouts are still very active.
  3. Robust M&A activity in the following sectors: Energy & Renewables, Technology, Industrials, Healthcare & Pharmaceuticals and Telecommunications.
  4. Some M&A transactions involve CEE buyers developing outside our region, particularly in Western Europe.

Forvis Mazars expects these themes to still influence CEE deal activity in 2025. Despite the challenges related to geopolitical tensions in Ukraine and the Middle East, the energy crisis, and relatively high inflation and interest rates, dealmakers remain relatively positive about the upcoming months: Central and Eastern Europe is well-positioned to benefit from industrial nearshoring, succession planning, further PE funds activity, the shift towards renewables, and further market consolidation in selected sectors, which are the main drivers of that trend.
