2018 VAT Gaming changes
On 21st November 2017, the Malta VAT Dpt issued guidelines which shall change the VAT treatment of certain supplies related to gambling as of 1st January 2018.
The New Gaming act, as of 1 August 2018, will bring new changes to licensees that are now required to identify the persons responsible for key functions.
There could be also some conflicts in key functions that have been identified by the Malta Gaming Authority in terms of article 9 of the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance directive.

New Regulations have been published on 20 July 2018 in the Government Gazette of Malta. They enable the new gaming regulatory framework together with the new Gaming Act (Cap 583 of the Laws of Malta).
The MGA is also issuing the Player Protection Directive and the Gaming Authorisations and Compliance Directive. They will come into force on 1 August 2018 together with the Act and the Regulations
