Increase in amount of living minimums
The government newly orders, pursuant to Section 9 (2) of Act No. 110/2006 Coll., on the Living and Subsistence Minimums:
- the amount of the living minimum of an individual is CZK 4,620 per month
- the amount of the living minimum of a person, who is considered first in succession, is CZK 4,250 per month
- the amount of the living minimum of a person, who is considered second or more in succession shall amount to
a) CZK 3,840 for a person from 15 years of age who is not a dependant child,
b) CZK 3,320 for a dependant child from 15 to 26 years of age,
c) CZK 2,900 for a dependant child from 6 to 15 years of age,
d) CZK 2,360 for a dependant child under 6 years of age
- the amount of the subsistence minimum of an individual is CZK 2,980 per month.
The living minimum is the minimum socially recognised threshold of cash income to ensure nutrition and other basic personal needs. In state social support, the living minimum is used to determine the entitlement to certain benefits and to calculate the amount of certain benefits.
The subsistence minimum is the minimum monetary income threshold that is considered necessary to ensure nutrition and other basic personal needs at a level that allows for survival. The subsistence minimum cannot be used for a dependant, for old-age pensioners, for third-level disabled persons and for persons over 68 years of age.
