Forvis Mazars engaged in EU-ASEAN Business Council delegation on their business mission to Hanoi, Vietnam

From 26th to 28th June 2024, Forvis Mazars’ Chairman Minh Nguyen, also Vice Chairman of EuroCham Vietnam, joined a high-level EU-ASEAN Business Council delegation on a three-day mission to Hanoi.

The delegation held various productive meetings with key Vietnamese stakeholders, including National Assembly Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, and leaders of Ministries: Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Planning and Investment, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ministry of Information and Communications, Ministry of Transport and State Bank of Vietnam.

The EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) is a primary advocate for European business interests in Southeast Asia. This high-level mission to Vietnam permitted direct interaction between European business leaders and Vietnamese government officials, with the goal of strengthening economic cooperation, addressing regulatory hurdles for European enterprises, and streamlining trade between Europe and Vietnam.

Throughout the three-day mission, EuroCham Vietnam joined hands with EU-ABC in bringing in advocacy topics, and sharing strong commitments of European businesses to support Vietnam in general, and Vietnamese businesses in particular.

Representing EuroCham in these meetings, Minh Nguyen shared: “This high-level engagement reflects our commitment to developing a strong cooperation between European businesses and Vietnamese authorities. The discusssion held during this delegation visit are expected to considerably improve the business environment, alleviate regulatory difficulties, and develop economic links between Europe and Vietnam”.
