[Event Recap] Vietnam Tax Summit 2024

On Friday, 16th August, our Tax Partner, Mr. Da Nguyen, represented Mazars Vietnam at the Vietnam Tax Summit 2024, where he provided valuable insights on updated VAT practices for 2024 and their impacts on export service enterprises.

For the third consecutive year, Forvis Mazars in Vietnam is proud to be a key sponsor of this important event. The summit came to fruition with more than 350 participants, including accountants, auditors, and other finance professionals. Representing Forvis Mazars Vietnam, our Tax Partner, Mr. Da Nguyen, was one of the key speakers at the summit. He delved into key proposed changes in the upcoming VAT regulations, challenges and difficulties in VAT refund practices for 2024, and their impact on export service enterprises.

According to Mr. Nguyen, many taxpayers are encountering difficulties during the actual filing because of the level of scrutiny being applied by the receiving BIR offices. This is because incomplete documents, even those that do not affect the amount of refund due to the taxpayers, or even a slight deviation from the prescribed format, will immediately result in the non-acceptance of the docket. He also emphasized the conditions for the application of 0% VAT in Vietnam, as well as the pros and cons for businesses. Additionally, he joined industry experts in addressing participants’ concerns.

We are proud to have been a key sponsor of this significant event for three consecutive years. A heartfelt thank you to CFO Vietnam for hosting us, and congratulations on the event’s success.
