Joanne Ranada Principal, Corporate Services
Over a decade of legal practice as a regulator, specifically in the areas of business structuring, corporate governance, securities, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate housekeeping for both foreign and domestic Philippine entities, with experience in wealth management and trust specifically in the areas of estate planning.
Joanne was formerly a Chief Counsel of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) who represented the SEC to various international bodies such as the International Monetary Fund, Asian Development Bank, and the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum. Her team at the SEC pioneered Corporate Governance regulation in the Philippines.
In the private sector, she served as Senior Assistant Vice President with BDO Private Bank, Inc., Senior General Counsel with Emphasis Services Limited – ROHQ, Assistant Corporate Secretary with Aboitiz Equity Ventures, Inc. and Aboitiz Power Corporation. She also held the position of Corporate Services Legal Manager of Quisumbing Torres (Baker McKenzie) where she was responsible for the formulation and implementation of processes required for corporate housekeeping work including navigation through the regulatory landscape of post registration transactions with the LGUs, SEC, DTI, BOI, PEZA and the like.
Joanne is also a member of the academe. She is a faculty member of Arellano University School of Law, University of Makati School of Law, and Aurora State College of Technology Law School.
