Philhealth allows more payment options for its online EPRS
Philhealth adds more payment options to the EPRS in pursuit of digital transformation to improve the business process in the Philippines.
Convenience and safety are critical priorities for the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHILHEALTH) when conducting business with any legitimate corporation in the Philippines.
As such, the organisation has added more payment options for business owners of all sizes (micro, small, medium, to global enterprises), allowing for a more streamlined remittance of employee health insurance premiums when using the organisation’s Electronic Premium Remittance System (EPRS).
Philhealth can provide these new payment methods via a partnership with MyEG Philippines, an electronic solutions leader promoting the online automation of government services for both the Philippines and Malaysia.
It also serves as an internationally renowned e-payment processing provider with about 90,000 payment channels across the globe.
Philhealth OIC-PCEO Atty. Eli Dino Santos made the following statement regarding this change, stating that:
“As we add more payment options on the EPRS, we want to encourage more businesses and employers to do their transactions online as it is easier, safer, more convenient, and hassle-free. This is just among the many initiatives under PhilHealth’s ongoing digital transformation aimed at further improving the ease of doing business in the country,”.
Additional information
The update in payment options follows Executive Order No. 170 and Republic Act No. 11032, otherwise known as the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act.
Philhealth first allowed people to pay their contributions using GCash, Maya, and Credit/Debit Cards in 2021 by accepting online payments on its member portal.
The organisation’s EPRS can be accessed by logging into the organisation’s online services. When on the site, users can choose which Statement of Premium Accounts (SPA) to pay, their preferred payment method, and conduct complete payment; afterwards, a confirmation email will be sent to the employer.
