Mazars sponsors National Breast Cancer Research Valentines Ball
The Valentine’s Ball is one of the charity’s major annual fundraising events and monies raised help to support the breast cancer research team led by Prof. Michael Kerin, based at the Lambe Institute, University of Galway. 1 in 7 women Irish women will develop breast cancer before they reach 75 with over 3,500 cases diagnosed annually. The National Breast Cancer Research Institute funded research focuses on the development and improvement of diagnostic techniques and treatment strategies, to drive real and measurable improvement in clinical outcomes for breast cancer patients.
Commenting on the sponsorship, Austin Sammon, partner in the Mazars Galway office, stated; “Mazars is delighted to support this National Breast Cancer Research Institute event. The work of the Institute is incredibly important, benefiting those impacted by breast cancer at a local and national level. Speaking at the announcement Research Director at the charity, Prof Michael Kerin said, “We are delighted to have the support of Mazars for what is one of our most important fundraising events. National Breast Cancer Research Institute supported research has greatly improved the outcome from breast cancer and continues to enhance the application of research to patient care with the current development of the cancer centre, cell and biobank related research and better breast imaging utilising Microwave technology”.
