As of 1st January 2019 the previous Packaging Ordinance (VerpackV) was replaced by the new Packaging Act (VerpackG) in Germany, containing a number of significant changes.
The German government has introduced the changes to achieve greater transparency in the reporting of packaging to help it realise its ambitious recycling targets. But why is it so important? Because as a consequence, even a Hungarian entity which performs sales in Germany in the framework of intra Community transaction has to pay attention to the new obligations.
