4 new partners for Mazars Luxembourg
Mazars in Luxembourg, an international audit, tax, accounting and advisory firm with 240 employees as from January 2021, continues its growth and is on track to surpass the 2021 budgeted growth rate that was set in the summer of 2020. Muhammad Hossen, the Managing Partner of Mazars in Luxembourg states that the growth comes from a variety of factors, most important of which is investing in the right people at the right time. In line with the 2024 strategy, Mazars in Luxembourg is pleased to announce the appointment of Irina Sergeeva, Florian Konz, Arnaud Barosi and Gianfranco Mei as partners to strengthen and support Mazars’ activities in Luxembourg.
- Irina Sergeeva is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of Luxembourg CFA society. With more than 13 years of experience in corporate finance and valuation, she joined Mazars Luxembourg in 2019 and supervises the valuation services with a focus on alternative investments and illiquid assets. Irina led and performed local and international valuation engagements across assets, purposes and geographies.
- Florian Konz holds a Diploma degree in Business education, is a member of Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) and a CSSF accredited Certified Auditor. Florian has more than 10 years of experience in audit and coordinated a significant number of audit teams. He has extensive experience in UCITS, Real Estate, Private Equity, Infrastructure and Venture Capital Funds and coordination of clients with international activities. Further Florian is responsible for the German market at Mazars Luxembourg.
- With more than20 years in the financial sector in Luxembourg, Arnaud Barosi joined Mazars FAS to take responsibility for the advisory services in the areas of internal governance, internal audit, regulatory compliance and operational risk management. He is also an expert in the issuance of third party assurance reports according to international standards such as ISAE 3000, ISAE 3402 and SOC 1. He was the pioneer in Luxembourg in developing a service offering to assist Luxembourg regulated financial institutions (comprising investment fund managers, banks, investment firms, electronic money institutions/payment institutions, specialized PFS) to face on-site inspections by regulatory authorities.
- Gianfranco Mei joined Mazars FAS Luxembourg in March 2020 as Director of the service line “Governance, Risk & Internal Control”. Gianfranco has more than 15 years of professional experience serving the Luxembourg Financial Services Industry (comprising asset management, PFSs and banking sectors) and providing regulatory advisory support (e.g. internal controls / governance & oversight on delegates, regulatory compliance & AML, risk management) and including review / assessment of the (to be) implemented operating model.
Gianfranco recently acted as PMO on different regulatory remediation activities according to the output of internal control functions / local regulator reports. Gianfranco had been previously appointed also as Managing Director and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Carnegie Fund Services S.A. (UCITS Management Company also AIFM licensed).
