Expected amendments to EU sustainability rules

The European Commission has unveiled a proposal that would drastically change the EU sustainability requirements: scope is reduced and deadline is pushed back.

The European Commission has today published its proposals to change the rules on various sustainability reporting obligations as part of its competitiveness agenda to cut red tape and simplify the business environment. Initial assessments suggest that the proposed measures, if adopted and implemented by Member States, will drastically reshape the current rules, significantly reducing the scope of companies concerned and their obligations.
