Mazars Harel Drouin will be developing its Canadian market from its Quebec plateform
Following the merger of the global Mazars Group and the Montreal firm Harel Drouin in September 2009, Mazars Harel Drouin is preparing to roll out its cross-Canada development strategy with the opening of audit and consulting offices in Ontario and Atlantic Canada over the next five years. Mazars Harel Drouin is emerging as a major player in the accounting profession and will develop its Canadian market from its base in Montreal.
Patrick de Cambourg, president of Mazars Group, is in Montreal to mark the integration of Mazars Harel Drouin into the international Mazars Group partnership. He stresses the strategic importance of this integration for its Canada-wide development: “Around the world, the landscape of the accounting profession is changing. In Canada, Mazars Harel Drouin is distinctly different in the world of audit, accounting, taxation and advisory services. From its base in Montreal, Mazars Harel Drouin will spearhead the development of Mazars in Canada over the next few years.”
At the event being presented tonight by Mazars Harel Drouin for the Montreal business community, Pierre Arcand, Minister of International Relations and Minister responsible for the Francophonie, intends to reaffirm the importance of the Quebec-France Understanding on the Mutual Recognition of Professional Qualifications in accounting: “This Understanding allows accountants in Quebec and France to obtain the right to work in each other’s territory. It facilitates and speeds up recruitment of qualified people and enhances companies’ productivity.”
