Mazars appoints Jonathan McMahon, formerly the Central Bank of Ireland’s Head of Financial Institutions

Mazars appoints Jonathan McMahon, formerly the Central Bank of Ireland’s Head of Financial Institutions, to lead its Regulatory Advisory and Bank restructuring team.

He will be responsible for providing financial services clients with advice on how to successfully navigate and comply with the unprecedented number of regulatory changes that have been introduced in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis. It is anticipated that his capabilities and experience will also be particularly valuable to Banks that need to restructure in order to comply with the new regulations.

Prior to joining Mazars, Jonathan worked at the Central Bank of Ireland, where as Head of Financial Institutions he was in charge of bank and insurance company supervision. He was also the Irish representative to the European Banking Authority. He has been closely involved in the restructuring of the Irish banking system, and negotiations with the International Monetary Fund, the European Commission and European Central Bank. He previously worked at Promontory Financial Group and at the FSA and Deloitte in London, where he specialised in banking and financial sector issues.
